According to a new report of an authoritative organization, the French are still the world's largest consumers of peach wine, with an average of 20 bottles per adult per year.

The Observatoire Mondial du Ros é website released its latest report this week, showing that France has once again become the world's favorite consumer of ros é wine.

France consumes a total of 236 million liters of ros é wine annually, which is equivalent to each adult aged 18 and above consuming 20 bottles of ros é wine per year.

In fact, since May 2022, people in France have purchased more ros é wine than any other wine, buying 400 million euros worth of ros é wine from supermarkets alone, which is 20 million euros higher than the amount spent on red wine during the same period.

Peach wine is becoming increasingly popular worldwide. The statistical report shows that the long-term consumption level has increased. In the past 20 years, although it decreased by -1% in 2019, the overall consumption level has increased by 23%.

The French consume an average of 15.1 litres of peach wine per year. Surprisingly, the second highest consumer is Uruguay (9.7 liters), followed by Cyprus (5.2 liters), Belgium (5.1 liters), and Switzerland (5.1 liters).

The report identified countries with relatively low consumption levels of ros é wine but strong potential. This includes the United Kingdom (2 liters per year), the United States (1.3 liters), Australia (1 liter), Canada (0.7 liters), and China (0.1 liters).

The ros é wine consumed in France mainly comes from France, and France still has the largest production of ros é wine in the world.

According to the latest data, France produced the equivalent of 933 million bottles of ros é wine in 2019, accounting for 30% of the global total.

Spain is the second largest producer of ros é, with stable production levels in the past two years. The United States ranks third, and Italy ranks fourth.

Spain was once the world's largest exporter of ros é wine, ahead of France. However, since 2019, the export of French ros é wine has increased by 7%, making France the largest exporter of ros é wine.

In terms of exports, the global price of 75cl bottles of ros é wine has increased by 29% since 2015, with an average price of 1.57 euros in 2019. However, the average price of high-quality ros é wine in 2019 reached 3.75 euros per bottle (75cl bottle).
