France continues to suffer from heatwaves, with hot and dry weather not only affecting people's lives but also threatening crop growth. In the famous wine producing region of Bordeaux in southwestern France, severe weather conditions severely affect grape cultivation, leading to a decline in wine production and quality.
During the flowering period, grapevines are highly sensitive to temperature and humidity, and a suitable environment is necessary to ensure the full bloom of grapevines. However, France continues to experience dry weather, resulting in a poor grape harvest.
A winemaker pointed out that grapes in some planting areas have been severely damaged due to drought, and some grapevines have not survived. And the surviving grapevines have grown too small fruits, with almost no grape juice. This year's grape harvest will significantly decrease, directly impacting the production of wine.
At present, wine prices have risen significantly due to inflation, coupled with poor grape yields leading to insufficient production. The British Wine Guild has stated that wine prices are expected to soar this year.
